Finally I'm able to let the jack out of the box. Since early April, I've been working on an epic ending credits theme for a new commercial game due summer 2002. The game is made by a software company calling themselves "Split Pine Studios", and it is probably the largest production of it's kind, ever. The reason for me claiming something like this is that the game will be given away for FREE. Yes, you heard me right. For approximately zero dollars you'll get a high quality game, no strings attached. The only thing you'll have to do is drop by it's web page and place your order (the page won't be up untill the game is released).
![]() At this point, I'm not allowed to give away any specific issues concidering the game, but the following information has allready gone public. The plot will unfold in a distant future on a planet inhabited to uphold peace amongst four races. When peace one day is disturbed, the entire solar system is in danger, and it's here you come into the picture. To discover the shocking truth, you'll have to talk to the creatures living on the planet and solve the puzzles blocking your path to further knowledge. As for the game interface, it will be a high detailed pre-rendered 3D world. The game will allso feature fullscreen cinematics and a complete musical score. |
![]() The feedback on the demo I gave them has been amazingly good. Here's an excerpt:
"I think this piece would be awesome ending credits music. As said in today's chat, the ending credits music needs to be something unique that will want the player to feel a sense of achievement as well as wanting to play it again. Very nice."
"Hey, listened to the music. I think it can be made into a very good song, some more scorering and mixing and it can be great. Damn you that you cut it just after the drums enter! My foot really started going when I heard the drums... :)"
The game will be released on the MAC platform first, but since the programmers will be doing the work as an open-source project, Windows, Linux and BeOS versions will probably follow. Look for "Citrus Five" (the game's codename) in the gaming press soon for further updates. |
