Read All About it!

When unveiling the News section here at Mednotes.net almost a decade ago, I envisioned it as no more than an auxiliary tool for my exam notes, with expectancies of quite a limited shelf-life. Not in my wildest dreams would I have thought that the News section would end up becoming the central hub for everything I have dedicated my life to, even less that the News section would reach a 100 distinct news stories - as is the case today. That equals a steady flow of one update every month, every year, consistently for the past 8 years!

Through the News section I have shared my setbacks, and my progresses in life with you. I have shared my thesis, and my exam notes with you. I have shared my applications for the Mac OS operating systems, and my complete artist portfolio with you. And I'm far from done!

I will continue sharing for as long as there is life left in me!

Here's to the next 100 news stories!

When Life Gives You Lemons...

The current calendar year has so far proven quite the challenge for most of us. Having our autonomy partially revoked is not something new in human history, but is regardless never something we can sufficiently prepare for nor necessarily react beneficially to.
This seemingly never-ending torrent of curveballs forced me to take a step back and truly observe the repercussions in my own life, and how, if possible, to hit them all out of the park in one single blow. And, after an intense couple of months, I believe I have acquired a complete set of home runs.
During the summer, me and my family have moved back to the farm on my childhood island on the west coast of Norway, far away from the epicentre of SARS-CoV-2. My own parents have stepped up to the plate when it comes to the daily needs of my son whenever I'm not available. My wife has given birth to a beautiful baby girl. And I have commenced work at the hospital on the mainland, both finalizing my current specialization as well as serving as a possible entryway to a dual specialization.
And, as all these monumental life changes are beginning to settle, I'm slowly getting back at the helm at Mednotes.net. So prepare for some awesome new updates here at this web site in the coming months Happy
...Make lemonade!

Good Artists Copy...

Upon making my Vox 0.2.7 Yosemite Compatibility Update available over at MacUpdate.com, the editors at MacUpdate.com felt the name was way too convoluted, and changed it to 'Vox Legacy'. A simply brilliant name for a simply brilliant audio player - and today I am plundering that name!

Vox Legacy 1.2 comes in a brand new packaging with a brand new name. Furthermore, version 1.2 updates the core audio library to the most recent BASS 2.4.15.

...Great artists steal!

New in Vox Legacy 1.2:
- Changed name to 'Vox Legacy' (was 'Vox 0.2.7 Yosemite Compatibility Update').
- Updated the core audio library to un4seen's awesome BASS 2.4.15.

Preemptive Catchup

As the pandemic finally has given me a little room to breathe, I am using the little time I have to spare to get both behind and ahead of schedule here at Mednotes.net.

Today I'm finally updating the screenshots for Startup, as well as adding screenshots for Yosemite Disks a couple of days past due. Furthermore, the screenshots of Yosemite Disks give you a small peek into the future, as they showcase brand new icons soon to be released here at this web site.

Now, back to the trenches!

On Fire

Yosemite Disks is a brand new set of custom hard disk icons all dressed up for Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite or newer. Version 1.0 of Yosemite Disks gives you custom icons for all known external hard disk interfaces from FireWire through Thunderbolt - and everywhere in-between.

I'm already hard at work with the next version, adding custom icons for all your different hard disk utilizations.

Get customized!

Startup 1.3 is the most superfluous update ever released, bar none. I simply needed an icon for the listing of Startup here at Mednotes.net, and while at it I just as well made four - one for each separate startup screen within Startup.

Perfectionism is a b*tch!

New in Startup 1.3:
- Added custom icons.

Dire Times

The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic is currently raging through the world, and has inevitably hit the shores of the place I call home with full force. Norway is now in full lockdown, and all medical doctors within its border are called to arms. As of yesterday, the state now requires all medical doctors to be working well above capacity in order to limit further spread of the virus. The state retains the right to transfer us to any new field of medicine in which we are needed as they see fit. And leaving the country for any extent of time is punishable by prison for any medical doctor who tries to do so. This is a medical crisis that no one alive has experienced, and that most of us were not sufficiently prepared for.

As such, at the current moment it has become virtually impossible for me to keep on churning out regular updates here at Mednotes.net at the same pace as you previously have come to expect. Updates to all my existing applications as well as some kick ass new ones are still all but ready for launch. But the time required for designing icons, creating screenshots, writing descriptions, writing version histories, packaging, uploading, and announcing each of my separate applications consumes a lot more time than most of you are aware of. And this is time that simply will not be available for me in the foreseeable future.

I will continue chipping away at the updates I have lined up whenever time will suffice...

In the mean time: Stay strong, stay safe!

12.5 years online, 1.25 million exam notes downloaded!

A sincere thank you from the bottom of my heart to every single one of you who have previously used, or are currently using, my exam notes to pass your medical exams! You were the sole reason I wrote my exam notes in the first place, and you remain the sole reason I keep Mednotes.net up to date and current to this very day!

You are truly appreciated!

1,250,000 medical textbooks requested.

Pump That BASS!

Vox 0.2.7 Yosemite Compatibility Update 1.1 updates Vox 0.2.7 with the most recent BASS 2.4.14 core audio library.

I've already got several brand new applications for both Classic Mac OS and Mac OS X lined up for release, as well as several updates for my existing applications in the wings. And there's even some crazy awesome news for all you less computer-savvy out there I just can't wait to share with you all!

Here's to an amazing new year, and to an amazing new decade!
